As we begin to close out 2011, it is worth looking back to see the changes that have taken place to see where we might be heading. Design is one of those changes that you can track the year homes were built (or at least remodeled). For Real Estate the design trends can be as important as the economic market conditions.
In a few years we will be able to look at a home and say “that was built during the housing boom” just by looking at the style and design. The big question is what the new design and style will become as we start to recover from the housing bubble. These new trends are already forming and as new home construction begins to come back, we will be seeing more and more of these trends develop.
So we can look back on 2011 to see what kind of design trends are beginning to occur. Here are a couple great slideshows from Houzz
