Every once in a while there is a product that comes out that totally changes the way homes “live”. This Google Cooktop might be the catalyst for that home lifestyle change. Maybe not this look but this concept of integrating the internet / iphone technology into our meal preparations. Could this change kitchen designs and appliances going forward? What are your thoughts?
This Google Cooktop is embedded into the counter-top and operates similar to an iphone / ipad. This was created by designer Sarah R. L. Johnson.
This cooktop can be connected to the internet wirelessly or plugin into your iphone. This would allow the “chef” to search for recipes and get “recommendations” on recipes from either your catalog or from online. You would enter the profiles of the people eating and this cooktop will portion the recipe out so you had enough for the meal and not too much waste.
The steps and ingredients for the recipe would be displayed for the “chef” to begin cooking. The cooktop would also measure your ingredients for you simply by the weight on the cooktop.
It does not sound like this is yet integrated with the stove yet, but that probably is not a far leap for the appliance manufacturers to take that next step.
Do you think this will be the catalyst for smart kitchen designs?
