The August unemployment rate for Hennepin County nudged down slightly in August to 5.7% from 5.9%.
The unemployment rate is of course not the most reliable indication of employment situation, but is still worth looking at. The employment to population ratio is more reliable metric. This data does not show us if the number of jobs has increased or the if the number of people in the workforce shrunk…
It does however paint a picture that the unemployment rate is still high for Hennepin County. From the graph, anything over 5% is abnormally high for the county.
